The Gospel teaches us that we are sinners, unable to save ourselves, but out of love God sent His Son to reconcile us to Him. Jesus Christ paid our debt, forgave us, and gave us a new life as new creations. Now we live free from the power of sin, walking daily in a transforming relationship with Christ.

How God Saves Us

God saves us by:

  • Forgiving our sins.

  • Reconciling us to Himself through Jesus Christ.

  • Jesus is God’s mercy extended to us.

Romans 3:24-25:

We are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ.

  • Jesus paid our debt with His blood.

  • God does not save us from His own wrath, but from ourselves and from the kingdom of darkness.

  • God’s discipline is based on guilt—guilt we bring upon ourselves by sinning.

Knowing Christ

  • The Gospel centers on Philippians 2:11 — “Jesus Christ is Lord.”

  • Why is He Lord? Because of His incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and His return.

  • Acts 2:38 – Faith in Christ leads to repentance, baptism, forgiveness, and the Holy Spirit.

Lordship Must Be Declared

  • John 20:28 – Thomas calls Jesus “My Lord and My God.”

  • A Christian believes, repents, is baptized, and surrenders fully.

  • If Jesus is not Lord and God, then our faith is not real — it’s fantasy.

Who Reconciles Us?

Jesus Christ:

  • The eternal Son of God.

  • Fully divine and fully human.

  • Died for our sins, rose again, ascended to heaven, and reigns as Lord.

Philippians 2:9-11:

At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Is There Any Other Way to Be Saved?

No. Only through Jesus Christ.

Acts 4:12:

There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

1 Timothy 2:5-6:

One mediator between God and man: Jesus Christ.

John 14:6:

"I am the way, the truth, and the life."

What Does It Mean to Turn to Christ? (Repentance)

The 4 C’s of Repentance:

1️⃣ Conviction of sin

  • Comes from the Holy Spirit—not from ourselves.

2️⃣ Contrition of heart

  • A godly sorrow that leads us to seek God’s forgiveness.

3️⃣ Confession with the mouth

  • We take responsibility for our sins and confess them to God.

4️⃣ Confrontation of the will against sin

  • We take practical steps to avoid falling again.

Our New Life in Christ

1️⃣ Reconciliation with God
2 Corinthians 5:17:

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

2️⃣ Forgiveness of past and present sins
Colossians 1:13-14:

We were transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His Son.

3️⃣ Provision for future sins
1 John 1:9:

If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive.

  • Grace is not permission to sin, it is power not to.

4️⃣ Freedom from the power of sin
John 8:36:

If the Son sets you free, you will be truly free.

  • Freedom from patterns, habits, and spiritual bondage.

5️⃣ Union with Christ
Romans 6:5:

United with Him in His death, united in His resurrection.

  • Our life now imitates the life of our Savior.
